Debra Alexander brings patients over 30 years of nursing expertise. She has 14 years of intensive care unit experience with an emphasis on neurosurgical patient care. She joined the Regional Brain & Spine team in February of 2005.
Debra’s goal is to use her knowledge, skills and resources to help patients achieve improved health and quality of life. She also understands that in some cases it is just as important to help patients and their families adjust well to their illness or disability.
Debra’s style is characterized by education, empathy and open communication. She invests a great deal of time talking with patients and family members — helping them understand their options and set goals. She also provides essential support through each phase of the treatment process to help them achieve optimum results.
Debra is an active member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She also volunteers with Feed My Starving Children and the Salvation Army.
In her personal time, Debra enjoys spending time with her husband Todd, their three daughters and their two Yorkshire Terriers. She also enjoys attending sporting events with her daughters, and she and her husband frequently ride their Harley Davidson together.
